A message from David Carter to Bryce [...] At 2:24AM CDT on June 23, 2006, rookie competitor Bryce Walsh completed the RAAM 2006 Ultracycling Competition in just 11 days, 15 hours, and 53 minutes. After penalties are applied, Walsh’s official finish time is 3:09AM CDT, June 23, 2006. He maintained an average speed of 10.87 MPH with a total off-bike time of 41 [...] Call from the crew: Walsh is 9 miles out, preparing to pick up his police escort to the finish line. Stay tuned… The stats aren’t updated yet, but just heard from crew: Walsh is at McKee City NJ, 14 miles away. Stay tuned… Check out that average MPH over on the right. Finish ETA as of TS 55 arrival: AVG MPH 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 Now just past TS 54 in Georgetown, PA, Walsh just needs to hold steady. If he does, he will take 5th in his division and come in just a couple of hours ahead of Female Solo competitor Shanna Armstrong. Kenny, to say you “ran a hard race” is the understatement of the year. Everyone on this site has come to the conclusion that you’re built out of some sort of space-age, bulletproof material. Well done! Things are looking up for Mr. Walsh.
